How ARC Raiders Damage Mechanics Work
ARC Raiders features a punishing combat sandbox where split-second decisions and loadout optimization dictate your survival in the extraction zone. The damage model is not just a simple subtractive health pool system; it dynamically layers ammunition penetration values against tiered body armor mechanics and innate ARC machine damage resistance.
When you fire a weapon in ARC Raiders, the raw damage number listed in the armory is merely the baseline. The true damage inflicted is immediately modified by your engagement distance. The game employs a tiered range drop-off system (Close, Medium, Long) where a Battle Rifle that deals 40 damage at 15 meters might decay to just 30 damage at 45 meters. Our damage engine models this exact falloff curve, ensuring you know your effective Time-To-Kill (TTK) regardless of where the engagement takes place.
Furthermore, player accuracy heavily shifts DPS. Hitting weakpoints on ARC machines (such as the glowing vents on a Sentinel or the articulated joints on a Roller) applies a massive damage multiplier. Conversely, in PvP combat against other Raiders, headshots are the primary critical multiplier. The calculator simulates mixed-accuracy encounters using our Monte Carlo variance engine to find your authentic TTK.
