All Will Fall Structural Integrity Guide: Physics, Load Paths & Preventing Collapse

Verified Insights & Analysis
Master the 0.5m voxel socket physics in All Will Fall (v1.3.2). Learn how downward load paths, cantilever moment arms, and stress heatmaps work to prevent catastrophic settlement collapses.
The Law of Frontier Physics: Downward Mass Always Seeks Bedrock
Unlike traditional grid-based city builders where structures occupy abstract static tiles, All Will Fall treats construction as a dynamic mechanical engineering puzzle. Placed on a discrete 0.5m voxel socket grid, every placed block adds dead mass, alters the settlement's lateral center of mass (CoM), and tests the shear limits of every foundation element beneath it.
1. Cumulative Vertical Mass Transfer
Load paths in the All Will Fall engine follow direct vertical transfer. When you construct upper residential tiers, industrial smelters, or bulk water cisterns, the downward mass is aggregated column-by-column until it terminates in seabed bedrock. If any single foundation element exceeds 100% stress, it breaks, triggering a bottom-up cascading collapse.
2. The 4-Stage Stress Heatmap Diagnostic
- Green (<40% Stress): Completely safe nominal load. Immune to minor weather fluctuations and tide changes.
- Yellow (40–75% Stress): Strained load. Vulnerable to tidal capacity penalties during high-water cycles.
- Orange (75–100% Stress): Critical stress threshold. High risk of failure during 50ft gale storm events.
- Red Pulsing (>100% Stress): Structural collapse actively in progress. Requires immediate demolition or reinforcement.
3. Cantilever Overhangs & Center of Mass (CoM) Displacement
Expanding outward without supporting vertical columns creates a lever arm that magnifies torque on the anchor block. If your center-of-mass lateral displacement exceeds 1.2 meters from the central foundation line, the base will overturn during gale-force winds. Always bridge horizontal decks with Engineered Girder Trusses or Cross-Braced Diagonal Beams to share shear force across adjacent columns.
