The Season 1 Extraction Sandbox
Bungie's return to Marathon brings a lethal sandbox where Time-to-Kill (TTK) is the ultimate arbiter of success. Unlike Destiny, where space magic defines the flow, Marathon is a gritty extraction shooter where positioning and mathematical weapon advantages dictate who leaves the zone with their Cores intact.
The Mid-Range Kings: Volley Rifles vs. Pulse Rifles
The most contested bracket in Season 1 is the 20-40 meter range. The B33 Volley Rifle has emerged as the statistical leader for precision players. With a raw TTK of 0.68s, it punishes any runner caught in the open. However, the V44 Pulse Rifle, while slightly slower in pure TTK (0.74s), offers significantly better flinch resistance, making it superior for dueling under fire.

SMG Dominance in Verticality
Close-quarters combat in the vertical corridors of the Venutian colonies favors high-mobility platforms. The BRRT SMG boasts a terrifying 0.38s TTK at point-blank range, outperforming even the fastest shotguns if you land at least two headshots in the burst. For players who prefer "Hip-fire and Dash" tactics, the BRRT is currently S-Tier.
